Week 14 of the college football season? Absolutely electric. Rivalry games everywhere, and the playoff picture was on the line. Georgia barely edged out Georgia Tech, and Texas pulled off a wild upset over Texas A&M. There were moments you just couldn’t script—so let’s get into the top plays and turning points from Friday’s action and see how everything shook up the college football world.

Georgia vs. Georgia Tech: Bulldogs Hold On

The in-state rivalry between No. 4 Georgia and Georgia Tech had plenty of drama. The Bulldogs managed a win they desperately needed to keep playoff dreams alive.

It was a defensive slog at first, just field goals traded back and forth. Georgia wideout Zachariah Branch finally broke through, hauling in a 7-yard touchdown and putting Georgia up 10-3 in the second quarter.

Key Moments

Georgia tacked on a couple more field goals, but Tech kept it close with two of their own after halftime. The whole thing came down to the last play—Georgia Tech’s QB Haynes King heaved a Hail Mary, but it got swatted away. Georgia survived, barely.

Indiana Dominates Purdue to Stay Undefeated

No. 2 Indiana looked unstoppable, steamrolling Purdue to lock in a perfect season. Purdue QB Ryan Browne threw a pick on just his second pass, though Indiana couldn’t cash in right away.

But Indiana got rolling soon enough.

Offensive Firepower

The Hoosiers’ run game was just relentless. RB Kaelon Black punched in a 1-yard score, and QB Fernando Mendoza added a 7-yarder. Black wasn’t done; he broke loose for a 16-yard TD, and then RB Roman Hemby ripped off an 82-yard sprint to the house. Suddenly, Indiana was up 28-3.

They poured on 28 more points in the second half, shutting Purdue out after halftime. Indiana’s 12-0 record feels well earned.

Texas Shocks Texas A&M in a Thrilling Upset

This one was wild. No. 16 Texas pulled off a stunner, taking down No. 3 Texas A&M on their own turf. It started out close, with nothing but field goals for a while.

Texas A&M’s WR KC Concepcion finally broke the deadlock with an 8-yard touchdown just before the break.

Arch Manning’s Heroics

Second half, everything changed. Texas QB Arch Manning found WR Ryan Wingo for a 29-yard score, putting the Longhorns ahead. Then Manning himself ran one in from 35 yards out. Suddenly, Texas was up by 10.

Texas A&M tried to rally—RB EJ Smith cut the lead with a 13-yard TD run. But Manning stayed cool, and Aggies QB Marcel Reed threw two costly picks late. Texas finished the job. Huge win.

Arizona State vs. Arizona: Wildcats’ Defensive Masterclass

This rivalry started with a bang—Arizona State RB Jeff Sims dashed 27 yards for a touchdown early on. But then, Arizona’s defense just took over.

They forced five turnovers—three picks, two fumbles—and that completely flipped the game.

Defensive Highlights

Arizona blanked the Sun Devils 20-0 after halftime. Every time Arizona State coughed up the ball, Arizona made them pay. The Wildcats’ defense just wouldn’t let up, and that’s what decided it.

Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State: Rebels Dominate the Egg Bowl

The Egg Bowl was, well, classic Egg Bowl: big plays, big emotions. Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy set the tone right away with a 31-yard touchdown run.

QB Trinidad Chambliss kept it rolling, hitting WR Harrison Wallace for a 24-yard score. The Rebels just kept piling on.

Key Plays and Emotions

Mississippi State answered with a gritty 97-yard touchdown drive, but Ole Miss always had a response. Chambliss found WR De’Zhaun Stribling for a 23-yard TD, then dropped an 88-yarder to WR Deuce Alexander later. Ole Miss closed it out 38-19.

There was even a pretty heated scuffle in the second quarter—just another chapter in this heated rivalry.

Utah vs. Kansas: Utes Capitalize on Jayhawks’ Mistakes

This Utah-Kansas game was all about missed chances and defense. Kansas RB Daniel Hishaw Jr. put the Jayhawks up early with a 7-yard run, but Utah answered right back.

QB Devon Dampier hit WR JJ Buchanan for a 58-yard touchdown, and that set the tone for the rest of the matchup.

Game-Changing Moments

Kansas had several chances to pull ahead, but Utah’s defense kept shutting them down. Then, Utah’s cornerback Elijah Davis snagged a critical interception and took it 97 yards for a touchdown.

That play really flipped the script. Quarterback Dampier later found WR Larry Simmons for a 28-yard touchdown, which pushed Utah into a 17-14 lead.

Kansas managed a late touchdown, but Utah wouldn’t let go. The Utes held on and closed out a 31-21 win.
