EA Sports just dropped its full rosters and player ratings for the upcoming College Football 27 video game. Fresno State fans have a lot to look forward to.
The game launches July 9 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. At launch, you’ll find 68 of Fresno State’s 117 players included.
Headlining the Bulldogs’ roster is defensive back Simeon Harris. The virtual squad brings a mix of speed, strength, and skill, so it should be a blast for Fresno State fans to play.
Fresno State’s Top Players in College Football 27
Simeon Harris leads the Bulldogs with an 89 overall rating. That makes him the highest-rated player on the team and ties him for the top spot in the Pac-12.
Harris anchors the Bulldogs’ defense in the game. He’s a real difference-maker on that side of the ball.
Standout Offensive Players
The running game looks stacked, thanks to Rayshon “Speedy” Luke and Bryson Donelson, both with 84 overall ratings. Luke lives up to his nickname with a 96 speed rating and 95 acceleration.
This backfield duo should give opposing defenses headaches. On the offensive line, tackles Brayden Walton and Rolan Fullwood both earned 80 ratings, giving the Bulldogs’ runners some much-needed protection.
Josiah Freeman, the top returning receiver, checks in at 82 overall. He’ll be a go-to target in the passing game.
Key Defensive Players
Besides Harris, Jahzon Jacks stands out with an 83 overall rating. Jacks is the second-highest rated defensive lineman in the Pac-12.
Deijon Laffitte comes in at 80, and Sione Noa brings an 81 speed rating, making him the fourth-fastest defensive end in the conference. This group should give Fresno State’s defense some real bite.
Special Teams and Mascot Features
Kicker Manaki Watanabe is rated at 77, tying for third-best in the Pac-12. Punter Nick Verdugo rounds things out with a 69 overall rating.
And here’s a fun one: Fresno State’s mascot, TimeOut, is back in the “Mascot Mashup” mode with a perfect 99 overall rating. It’s a small detail, but fans are going to love it.
Notable Exclusions and Fresh Faces
The roster isn’t complete—some names are missing at launch. Jacob Chambers, Julius Gillick, Jalen Harris, and Andrew Chavez aren’t in the game yet.
Still, a few freshmen made the cut, including Deagan Rose, who has a 62 overall rating. It’s nice to see some new faces getting recognition.
Freshman Highlights
Deagan Rose is one of the rare freshmen included at launch. EA Sports seems to want to shine a light on up-and-coming talent.
Having these younger players in the game gives fans a glimpse of the Bulldogs’ future.
Recruiting News: Building for the Future
Fresno State isn’t just making noise in the game—they’re busy in real-world recruiting, too. The team just picked up a commitment from Bayon Harris, a wide receiver from Central East High School.
Harris chose Fresno State over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, and UCLA. That’s a big win for the Bulldogs.
Bayon Harris: A Star in the Making
Harris stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 205 pounds. He helped lead his high school team to a CIF State Division 1-A championship.
As a junior, he caught 86 passes for 1,768 yards and 26 touchdowns. According to MaxPreps.com, Harris ranked No. 8 nationally in receiving touchdowns and No. 13 in receiving yards.
Local Talent on the Rise
Harris joins a strong local recruiting class. Other talented wide receivers like Demaje Riley (Tulare Union), AJ Williams (Clovis West), and Relando Jefferson (Central East) are also on board.
Fresno State seems focused on keeping top Central Valley talent close to home. Out of 21 total pledges in the class, 19 are from California.
Other notable local commits include offensive linemen Carsten Campbell (Bakersfield Garces Memorial) and Austin Plaza (Clovis East), plus safety Grant Moser from Clovis Buchanan High School.
Looking Ahead: Future Commitments
Fresno State’s recruiting efforts aren’t slowing down anytime soon. The Bulldogs are still in the mix for Xavior Jones, a three-star athlete from Central East.
Jones is expected to announce his decision soon. If he picks Fresno State, he’d join two other Central East players who’ve already pledged to the Bulldogs.
That would give the team even stronger local ties. For those who care about that sort of thing, it’s a pretty big deal.
