Indiana University wide receiver Charlie Becker has really become a standout in college football. He went from being a pretty unknown sophomore to a major offensive threat.

For most of the first half of 2025, Becker was basically flying under the radar. He had just seven receptions for 157 yards in the first nine games.
Then Elijah Sarratt got hurt, opening the door for Becker. Suddenly he was starting against Penn State—and he made the most of it, grabbing seven catches for 118 yards and helping Indiana snag a huge win at Beaver Stadium.
From Hidden Talent to National Recognition
After that Penn State game, Becker just kept going. Over the next seven games, including the national championship, he racked up 27 catches for 522 yards and three touchdowns.
People started to notice. His performances turned heads and put him on the map as one of college football’s top receivers.
Not bad for a guy who was once a three-star recruit. It really shows what a little grit and a lot of work can do.

Becker says a lot of his progress is thanks to Coach Shanahan. The coach’s focus on making sure every receiver knows their job and can step up when needed made a huge difference.
He also points to the mentorship from older teammates like Sarratt, Omar Cooper, and EJ Williams. Their experience helped Becker find his confidence and grow as a player.

Heading into 2026, Becker’s been working on his confidence and leadership. He knows trusting his training and listening to mentors got him here.
Now, he’s aiming to guide the younger guys on the team. It’s a new role, but he seems ready for it—even if he still gets a little nervous talking about it.
Indiana’s Talented Offense
With Sarratt, Cooper, and Williams off to the NFL, Indiana’s offense has a new look. The team brought in some experienced transfers and a few promising young players.
Nick Marsh, one of the top portal additions, will be lining up opposite Becker. That should give defenses plenty to worry about.
Shazz Preston brings speed and can do a bit of everything, while Tyler Morris is a real wild card in the slot. There’s a lot of potential here.

This offense is honestly stacked. Besides the receivers, they’ve got three standout running backs: Turbo Richard, Khobie Martin, and Lee Beebe Jr.
