Week 4 of college football is here, and the pressure’s really on. There’s a full slate of big matchups and plenty of storylines, so fans and bettors are eyeing what could be a wild weekend.

Standout quarterbacks, coaching gambles—there’s a lot to watch for. Here’s a look at some of the best bets for this week, with a quick breakdown of what might tip the scales.

Devon Dampier Shines for Utah Against Texas Tech

Devon Dampier didn’t get many shots to start big games as New Mexico’s quarterback. Now, thanks to the transfer portal, he’s in the spotlight at Utah.

In just his first month with the Utes, Dampier could be the difference-maker in one of the weekend’s biggest games. Utah hosts Texas Tech on Saturday morning—both teams are 3-0, and whoever wins could be in the driver’s seat for the Big 12 title and maybe even a playoff berth.

Quarterback Showdown: Dampier vs. Morton

Dampier and Texas Tech’s Behren Morton couldn’t be more different, which makes this matchup fun. Morton’s a classic pocket passer, hitting 70.4% of his throws with 11 touchdowns and just one pick.

Dampier, on the other hand, is more of a Kyler Murray type—electric and unpredictable. He’s thrown for seven touchdowns, hasn’t been picked off, and already has 198 rushing yards. Last year, he ran for over 1,000 yards at New Mexico.

Utah’s Edge: Strength on Both Lines

Utah’s real edge, though, might be up front. Kyle Whittingham’s teams are always tough in the trenches, and playing at Rice-Eccles Stadium gives them a boost.

Best Bet: Utah -3

Jackson Arnold and Auburn Take on Oklahoma

Jackson Arnold once looked like the next big thing for the Sooners. Now, in his fourth start for Auburn, he’s heading back to Norman to try and take down Oklahoma.

Arnold’s been solid, but John Mateer’s been even more impressive. The Washington State transfer has thrown for 944 yards, rushed for 161, and scored nine touchdowns. His performance against Michigan two weeks ago really stood out.

Mateer’s Impact and Auburn’s Chances

Oklahoma will probably lean on their defense and Mateer to control things, but Auburn’s got a shot to keep it close. I’m grabbing the points with the underdog here.

Best Bet: Auburn +7

Purdue vs. Notre Dame: Expect a High-Scoring Affair

USC piled up 460 yards and didn’t even have to punt in their win at Purdue. Jayden Maiava and Ja’Kobi Lane are leading a loaded Trojans offense.

Michigan State, averaging 41.5 points over their last two, can keep up with dual-threat Aidan Chiles at quarterback. This late-night game in LA should be a shootout.

Best Bet: Michigan State-USC Over 55

San Diego State vs. Cal: A Closer Look

Freshman Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele and Cal have looked sharp in three wins, but it feels like the market’s caught on. Maybe a little too much respect for the Bears in this line?

San Diego State comes in off a bye, and coach Sean Lewis has had time to prepare. With Jayden Denegal at quarterback and Lucky Sutton in the backfield, the Aztecs should hang around.

Best Bet: San Diego State +13.5

Hawaii’s Underdog Potential

Last week: 2-2 against the spread.
Season: 9-7.
